2025 Raffle
Two free tickets with Paid Admission - Additional Tickets for $2 each or three for $5
The year 2025 marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Postal System and Benjamin Franklin as the first Postmaster General.
In 1775, before the Declaration of Independence was signed, the Continental Congress turned the Constitutional Post into the Post Office of the United States, whose operations became the first - and for many citizens, the most consequential - function of the new government itself.
Benjamin Franklin was named first Postmaster General.

There will be 2 (two) raffle prizes for the 2025 show.
The first prize, generously donated by one of the show's dealers, is an outstanding copy of the first U.S. stamp, the 5-cent Benjamin Franklin.
First placed on sale July 1, 1847, the 5-cent red-brown stamp was legal postage for any letter weighing up to half an ounce and being sent less than 300 miles. It pictures a portrait of Benjamin Franklin based on a drawing by James Longacre. Nicknamed the "Father of America's Postal Service," the scientist, inventor, and statesman earned his place on America's first postage stamp.

The second prize, generously donated by Federation members, is an attractive copy of Scott #113, the 1869 2-cent Pony Express issue.
The 1869 pictorials were the first in the world to introduce designs other than heads of presidents or statesmen and the first with higher denominations printed in more than one color. However, their unusual sizes and unfamiliar designs proved so unpopular that they were quickly replaced after one year. Today, these classics are one of the most desirable acquisitions for collectors.
