The American Philatelic Society
The American Philatelic Society is America's national stamp club. It is an organization of over 30,000 members who collaborate to support the hobby of stamp collecting and learn from one another. The society's headquarters are in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, where they have renovated an old match factory to create the American Philatelic Center. All APS staff work here, and the APC also houses the society's library, the American Philatelic Research Library.
The Southeastern Stamp Expo participates in a series of shows called the World Series of Philately. Shows must meet certain standards dictated by the APS to be considered a WSP show. The Exhibition of is a competitive one, where the Grand Award winner is invited to exhibit in the "Champion of Champions" exhibition at StampShow every August. The winner of the One-Frame Grand is invited to participate in the One-Frame Champion of Champions competition held at AmeriStamp, the APS winter show held each February.
