Annual dues are $12.00 Officers: President: Mac Will Vice President: John Ziegler Treasurer: Tom Drinkard Secretary: Allen Johnson Contact: Allen Johnson [email protected] Club History: The Gwinnett Stamp Club was started to aid members who were moving further out from Metro Atlanta and did not want to commute back into the city to attend the Atlanta Club or the now defunct Dekalb County Club. Our club meets at the Mountain Park United Methodist Church, 1405 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, GA, 30087, the 3rd Wednesday of every month. Our meetings start promptly at 7:00 and are always concluded on or before 9 PM. The meeting starts off with old and new business issues concerning the club. We also discuss any ideas to improve the meetings and the club. The business portion normally concludes within 15 minutes and we go on to the show and tell portion of the meeting. During this time members show off any unusual philatelic related items they have acquired since the last meeting. This is followed by any presentations that members might want to share. Topics will range from collecting specialties, show exhibit information, how to’s, and any other philatelic related topic that might be of interest to the group. We then conclude every meeting with an auction. On average our auction will last roughly 45 minutes with well over 50% of lots being sold. Most lots at our auction will sell for less than fifty dollars. Anyone can attend the auction and buy items but only members can sell items. Our Saturday meeting is held at the residence of long time club member Don LaBerteaux. Coffee is available. The meeting is the first Saturday of the month from 9 til 11 AM. We do a lot of trading, buying, and selling at these meetings. Members bringing item’s to view will provide a list of countries in advance so the collectors can have their list or albums on hand to minimize acquiring duplication. We also always have someone available to help members and non members out with appraising stamps and stamp collections.
