First Day of Issue of the $2 Patriotic Waves of Color Stamp

The United States Postal Service issued the $2 Patriotic Waves of Color stamp on January 30th, 2015 at the Southeastern Stamp Expo.  The $2 stamp is one of two stamps being issued, the other denomination being $1.  The stamp is a stylized design that celebrates the Red, White and Blue of the US flag and the symbolic colors of the country.

The ceremony lasted about 45 minutes about, and included several presenters. After the ceremony, attendees could have their ceremony programs signed by the presenters at the ceremony, and purchase First Day Covers from Cachetmakers. Seldom can collectors purchase a First Day Cover right at the First Day ceremony.  

After the presentation,at 1:00 pm, three seminars on First Day Cover collecting took place.
