First Day of Issue of the Forever Flag Stamp

First Day of Issue Ceremony

On January 26th, the United States Postal Service will be hosting a First Day of Issue ceremony at the Southeastern Stamp Expo. It will take place at 11 am in the Medlock Auditorium of the Hilton Atlanta Northeast.

The stamp issued is the new Forever Flag stamp. The stamp features a billowing flag. Designed by Greg Breeding, it is based on a photo by Tom Grill. It continues a tradition of patriotic issues by the USPS.

Speaking at the ceremony will be

Jeff Williamson, USPS Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice-President
Mick Zais, President, American Philatelic Society and Retired US Army Brigadier General
Mary-Anne Penner, USPS Director of Stamp Services

After the ceremony, a signing ceremony can take place where attendees can have their ceremony program signed by the speakers.

We also anticipate a number of cachetmakers to be selling First Day Covers with the newly issued stamp on them.
